After several years in the Metrodome, the Minnesota Gophers have a new home…

I thought the new stadium looked a lot like Heinz Field in Pittsburgh… perhaps the same designers?

While Gopher fans obviously held the edge in numbers, there were Jacks fans most everywhere you looked… both outside…

…and inside the stadium.  After finding my seat…… much to my dismay, THERE was the guy whom I would have to sit beside… eating popcorn using only his tongue.

I hate people who eat popcorn in this way.  I wanted to punch him.  So anyway…. I then turn around —- only to find FLOUNDER from Animal House looking right at me!

I’m thinking……….. if THAT guy starts eating popcorn with only his tongue — someone is going to get hurt!

Almost gametime as the Jackrabbits take to the field.  The stadium was nice… but there was a glaring bald spot…

You see, the whole idea of building a new stadium on campus was to make it easier for the students to get to the game.  Uh……. see all those empties?  Yep, the student section.  Must have been studying for an exam????

National Anthem was sung well… until the gal pronounced FLAG as… FLEEG. Folks, flag is pronounced with a SHORT a, not a long a.  Really isn’t that tough.

Okay, where the hell did this guy come from?  And they say the characters from the movie Fargo weren’t true to life………

Following a defensive touchdown and extra point (shown), SDSU was….

…leading 10-6.

The Jacks battled the favored Gophers…. and probably should have won the game.  However, when you want to spring the upset, you can’t turn the ball over and miss field goals.

Jacks lose 16-13.

I would like to give thanks to the guys at Producers Hybrids — as they purchased the first 20 seats on the bus.  Last year, these guys came with us to Ames, IA for the Jacks game against Iowa State.

Saturday was the college game………… Sunday was a day for the Vikings!  So I get off the bus at the Metrodome and am puzzled.   WHO tucks in their sweatshirt?

This guy does…  NOBODY tucks their sweatshirt in — except this guy.  Right?

Before the game, Lions players pray for a chance against the Vikings.  PLEASE GOD, JUST ONE CHANCE! 

It wasn’t long after I took this picture of former Husker Dominic Riaola that he was verbally abusing a fan close to me (who was doing his own verbal abuse of Riaola) Riaola became so fed up by the guy, he exploded by pointing up into the stand and screamed: ”I’m going to F*** your wife… Mother F*****!!!!”  Dominic, I am sure you mom wouldn’t approve.

    

This is the guy whom Dominic wanted to…… ”you know” his wife. ………….. so it is about halfway through the game and I was STUNNED to see who was sitting a few rows up from me……….

 

Thats right!  It is Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress!  I was like…. “Coach!  What are you doing in the stands????”

Following the National Anthem, it was time to PLAY BALL!

Bret Favre threw for a bunch of yards and touchdowns…

Cheerleaders danced like…….. bobble heads?

But most of all…………… we once again found out that Adrian Peterson is a beast… (who fumbles on occasion)!
